PROSHIELD welding blanket is a protective material comprising unexpanded vermiculite and inorganic coated heat resistant fibrous material, which layer undergoes localised expansion in a direction normal to its major surfaces when contacted by spatter of molten metal during a welding process;  major surfaces of the layer of flexible material to maintain its structural integrity. Proshield is economical, lightweight, and flexible, which enables the fabric to be wrapped around uneven surfaces. Proshield is also suitable for vertical shielding applications and spark protection during welding operations.
