The
Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (“MARC”)
has once again reaffirmed DIALOG's Corporate Credit Rating of
AA- in November 2005. MARC has maintained
DIALOG's Corporate Credit Rating of
AA- for seven consecutive years since 1999. The AA- rating
is a reflection of the Group's resilient financial position,
sound business fundamentals and overall low risk profile.
DIALOG voluntarily initiated the Corporate Credit Rating
exercise. This rating exercise, which was conducted without
reference to any specific bonds or debt issue, is being
undertaken with the primary objective of having an annual
independent assessment of the Group’s management strategies
and policies by an external agency. The independent assessment
covers not only quantitative factors, but also qualitative
areas such as the operating environment, competitive position,
management capabilities, and corporate business strategies.
The management has a proactive policy of continuously improving
corporate governance and greater transparency in all of
its activities. The Corporate Credit Rating exercise is
geared towards this objective, which will enhance accountability
to shareholders and investors’ confidence in the management’s
stewardship of DIALOG.
MARC is a well regarded domestic credit rating institution
in Malaysia. It is affiliated with Fitch, one of the only
three global rating agencies, with whom it has technical
cooperation and exchange.
