Fifty Families in Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara Will Benefit </B> <br><br> <B>Petaling Jaya, 3 September 2010 </B> Dato Haji Mohamad Roslan Sakiman, Mayor of Petaling Jaya today launched the first MyKasih  Love My Neighbourhood programme for Petaling Jaya at Giant Supermarket in Atria Damansara Jaya. <br><br> Dialog Group Berhad, the corporate donor today donated RM400,000 to the MyKasih Foundation out of which, RM52,000 will support the purchases of fifty families in Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara for one year. This is part of the Group Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) undertaking this year. The Group is already supporting families in two communities; Selayang and Jinjang when they contributed RM200,000 to the Foundation last year. <br><br> In addition, the Group is dedicating the Annexe of its new headquarters in Mutiara Damansara to MyKasih Foundation upon completion. <br><br> Speaking to reporters at the launch, Ngau Boon Keat, Executive Chairman of Dialog said,  While we focus on looking after the interest of our shareholders, we do not overlook the welfare of the less privileged members of our society. As a responsible corporate citizen, we are committed to helping them achieve a more sustainable lifestyle and promising future for their children. <br><br> Dialog is proud to be playing a role not only as a donor partner to MyKasih Foundation, but also the provider of the system employed by the programme. Through its subsidiary ePetrol Services, Dialog has developed a solution that pioneered the use of the MyKad as a tool to channel aid directly to target recipients. The success of the programme has prompted Dialog to come forward once again. <br><br>Appearing upbeat, Ngau continued,  Dialog is happy to note that two recipient families have  graduated from the first MyKasih programme in Selayang, whilst four mothers have now started their own little enterprise with micro financing loans through Amanah Ikhtiar. <br><br> Five more mothers from the same community are still undergoing skills training. In addition to that, recently, we were informed by our volunteers from HELP University that our families in Janda Baik which fall under our care of Selayang, received proper tap water, thanks to the awareness and media exposure of MyKasih programme. <br><br> Dialog is pleased that its technology has gained endorsement and recognition by other corporate organisations as they adopt MyKasih system into their CSR programme. MyKasih Foundation Director, Senator Dr. Back agreed saying that most of us are accustomed to more conventional methods where aid is distributed either by giving out cash or having volunteers deliver food to the recipients. These can be tedious and at times, impractical and open to abuse. <br><br> Pointing out the uniqueness of the programme, Back explained,  The MyKasih programme adopts the innovation developed by ePetrol that has effectively pioneered the use of MyKad technology to facilitate the distribution of aid by targeting it directly to the recipient. <br><br> ePetrol s terminal will verify the MyKad holder as the recipient of the MyKasih programme. A PIN must be used for all transactions. This procedure effectively converts MyKad from just an identification tool to a payment instrument, ensures contribution reach recipients in a convenient, accurate, cashless and secure way. <br><br> Using MyKad allows mothers to exercise the freedom to make their own purchasing decisions, restoring their self esteem, pride and dignity as they no longer need to depend on hand-outs. <br><br> Thanking Dialog for their contribution and allowing the Foundation access to the technology at no cost, Back concluded,  It is my opinion that this technology with its adaptability has tremendous potential to manage not only welfare programmes but also those with ePayment models using smart cards locally and abroad. It will be a privilege for me to introduce this idea to Australia someday soon. <br><br> Launching the event, Petaling Jaya Mayor Dato Haji Mohamad Roslan Sakiman lauded Dialog Group s commitment to help the poor with food aid for one year. The MBPJ is happy with NGOs initiative to compliment the government s effort in helping this segment of our society. He also congratulated MyKasih Foundation for introducing the MyKasih  Love My Neighbourhood programme.a <br><br> Fifty recipient families have been selected with the support of Pusat Penyayang Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara. The Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur DiRaja helped assess these families. <br><br> The MyKasih Foundation launched the MyKasih  Love My Neighbourhood programme in April 2009.
