Balai Cluster
The Balai Cluster Small Field Risk Service Contract (Balai Cluster SFRSC) was awarded in August 2011 to ROC Oil Malaysia (Holdings) Sdn. Bhd., Dialog D&P Sdn. Bhd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of DIALOG) and PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. (known collectively as Contractors).
Subsequently, the Contractors formed BC Petroleum Sdn. Bhd. (BCP) to carry out the management, operations and development of the SFRSC. The development area is located approximately 100-130 km north-east of Bintulu, Sarawak.
Covering four fields – Balai, Bentara, West Acis and Spaoh in water depths ranging from 45-65 metres, the project facilities comprised four light weight guyed wired caisson wellhead platforms (Tarpon), one in each field, and an Early Production Vessel (EPV) the Balai Mutiara. It also comprised on-board accommodation for 40 staff, oil and gas processing facilities and an effective crude storage capacity of about 50,000 barrels.
