No changes to FBM KLCI constituents

PETALING JAYA: FTSE Russell and Bursa Malaysia announced that there will be no changes to the constituents of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, following the semi-annual review of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series yesterday.

Part of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI is widely used by investors as the primary benchmark for the Malaysian market, including derivatives through FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Futures, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Options.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI reserve list, comprising the five highest ranking nonconstituents of the index by market capitalisation, will be used in the event that one or more constituents are deleted from the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI in accordance with the index ground rules during the period up to the next semi-annual review.

The reserve list are Westports Holdings, Fraser & Neave Holdings, YTL Corp, QL Resources and Telekom Malaysia.

The new additions for the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index are Guan Chong, Frontken Corporation, Muhibbah Engineering (M) and Pentamaster Corporation. As a result, UOA Development, Eco World Development Group, Unisem (M) and Boustead Plantations will be deleted from the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index.

For the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Hijrah Shariah Index, new additions are Top Glove and Yinson Holdings. As a result, Dialog Group and Sime Darby Property will be deleted from the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Hijrah Shariah Index.

All constituent changes take effect on June 24 and the next review will take place in December 2019.
