The Bayan field is located in the sub-block of Balingian PSC which is wholly owned and operated by PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. (PCSB). Geographically, the field is about 80km northwest of Bintulu, offshore Sarawak.
In May 2012, Halliburton Bayan Petroleum Sdn. Bhd., a joint venture between Halliburton and DIALOG, was awarded Bayan Oilfield Services Contract (OSC) with PCSB as its customer.
In July 2021, DIALOG acquired all of Halliburton’s shares in Halliburton Bayan Petroleum Sdn. Bhd. and subsequently changed its name to DIALOG Bayan Petroleum Sdn. Bhd.
The activities in Bayan continue to focus on oil production enhancement, redevelopment drilling, petroleum engineering activities and more recently a non-associated gas (NAG) development. The NAG development involves the installation of a brand new Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU) to process NAG produced from Bayan for export and has been onstream since the end of June 2023, marking another major milestone for Bayan OSC.
With almost three decades of experience behind them, DIALOG Offshore Project Implementation (OPI) has been involved in projects ranging from Hook-up & Commissioning (HUC) to other EPCIC scopes.
